Day 01 :

  • Afternoon sightseeing of Delhi -we visit Raj Ghat, memorial to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. India Gate, President's House, Humayun's Tomb, The complex is a World Heritage Site & the first example of this type of Mughal architecture in India. Qutub Minar.

Day 02 :
Delhi – Mandawa (257 Kms / 5 Hrs Drive by Car)

  • Today we explore the Mandawa Fort, located in the very heart of Mandawa & a classic example of the famed Rajput style of architecture. It houses many beautiful paintings & frescoes that dazzle the eyes & now been converted into a heritage hotel. Gulab Rai Haveli built in the year 1870 that has some of the best murals in Shekhawati on both the exterior & interior walls with elephants & camels on its façade. Goenka Double Haveli, built in the year 1890, with monumental frescoes of elephants & horses decorating its façade. Bansidhar Newatia Haveli built in the year 1921 combines traditional frescoes of horses & elephants with those depicting a young boy using a phone plus opulent touring cars & the Wright Brothers' plane. If time permits we may visit more Havelis of the region & observe the colourful village life in Rajasthan.

  • We visit Junagarh Fort, built in the year 1593 AD by Raja Rai Singh (1571-1612 AD), the 6th ruler of Bikaner. The Fort is a formidable structure & largely remained unconquered during its eventful history. It houses number of beautiful Palaces, Temples & Pavilions, which are richly decorated The beautifully maintained rooms of Anup Mahal now display the treasures of the Royal family. The Fort Museum has an extensive collection of illuminated manuscripts, jewellery, jars, carpets, weapons, treaties, decorations & Farmans (King's Orders).

  • Today we visit the old town of Jaisalmer & visit Jaisalmer Fort, Palaces & beautifully sculptured Jain Temples of the 12th-15th century AD & of course skilled artisans & ubiquitous camels. We also visit magnificent Patwon Ki Haveli in the heart of the town. It was built by the rich merchant Guman Chand Patwa & his sons, whose business stretched between Afghanistan & China. Later we drive down 40 km away from Jaisalmer to Sam to take the Camel ride on the Sand Dunes of Sam while the sun is setting down.

  • Visiting the Mehrangarh Fort (Majestic Fort), one of the most impressive & formidable structures anywhere in India. Built by Rao Jodha, this 5km long Fort is on a 125m high hill & has some magnificent palaces with marvellously carved panels latticed window. The Fort Museum
    We also visit Jaswant Thada, a cluster of royal cenotaphs in white marble built in the year 1899

  • Attractions are  Deogarh Fort and Palace and the Anjaneshwar Mahadev temple. The magnificent Deogarh Palace now functions as a heritage hotel. Gokal Vilas is the residence of present Rawat, who is also a well-known art historian. The ruined Anjaneshwar Mahadev temple is supposed to be more than 2,000 years old.

  • One of the smallest national parks in the country at 29 sq.km., Keoladeo National Park packs a punch with its sheer diversity of avian species. It plays host to around 370 species of birds, roughly the number you are likely to encounter in the whole of United Kingdom. And supports 40,000 birds! Though its early claim to fame, the rare Siberian Crane has stopped visiting the park since 2002 and the park often faces water scarcity from time to time, it remains one of the jewels in India’s wildlife crown. This birder’s dream was declared a World Heritage Site in 1985!

    Completed in 1653 AD, Taj Mahal built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan is the final resting place of his favourite Queen, Mumtaz.     The great connoisseur of art, Mughal Emperor Akbar commissioned the construction of the Agra Fort in 1565 A.D. SIKANDRA:
    The mausoleum of Emperor Akbar represents his philosophy and secular outlook, combining the best of Hindu and Muslim architectures in a superlative region. FATEHPUR SIKRI:
    Fatehpur Sikri is an epic in red sandstone. A city of yesteryears today lost in the mists of time. Fatehpur Sikri was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar during 1564 A.D.

  • Being the oldest city of the world and an important Hindu pilgrimage center, Varanasi attracts a large number of people from all over the world. Since Varanasi is mainly associated with Hinduism, temples form the main attraction. The Ganga Ghats (river fronts) are the main center of religious activities and rituals and also form one of the main attractions of Varanasi. The Alamgir Mosque, blend of the Hindu and Mughal styles of the architecture, is another important attraction of Varanasi. Some of the most important temples of Varanasi are Durga temple, Vishwanath temple, Sankat Mochan temple, Tulsi Manas temple and the Bharat Mata temple. The Bharat Mata Temple houses a huge relief map of the whole of Indian subcontinent and Tibetan plateau. Other attractions of Varanasi are the Benaras Hindu University (BHU), the Archaeological Museum, Sarnath, Bharat Kala Bhavan and the Buddhist Stupas and temples at Sarnath.
